Fraulein Rottenmeier deferred until the following day the especial scolding which she had intended to give Heidi; for she felt too exhausted that night, after all the preceding emotions of vexation, anger, and fright, which in turn Heidi had unconsciously provoked in her. She drew back in silence, and Klara and Heidi followed quite content, for they knew their kittens were in a good bed. |
