Hoyle's book and its derivatives, has over many generations, been the "source" reference for card and board games. This early version from 1835 provides an interesting comparison of how games have changed over the years, and often how little they have changed. I have included this book on my site as it provides interesting historical and cultural background and it should be understood that it is not intended to be encouragement or condoning of gambling by children, or in fact by persons of any age.
