Lie on the back, the body fully extended, the muscles rigid, the bells gripped tightly, and the arms extended at right angles to the body. Move the arms
upward, with the bells held clear of the floor, until they touch above the head; then move the arms downward in a half circle toward the feet until the bells are brought
against the thighs; then above

Exercise 2
Assume the same reclining position as in the preceding exercise, with the arms ex­tended at full length at the sides. Then raise both arms, simultaneously, until the bells are brought together above the body, as in Figure 2. Re­peat twenty times.

Exercise 3
Lie on the back, with the legs fully extended, the arms bent at the elbows, and the bells gripped tightly as in Figure 3. Then raise the legs alternately, twenty times with each leg.
