Fritz asked me to let him drag the dead jackal towards the tent, that he might exhibit it the next morning to his brothers. I thought, however, that Turk and Flora might want to eat it, and advised him to leave it. However, he was anxious to try to keep it, and pulled it up near a rock by the entrance to the tent.
